New Jersey Paid Family & Medical Leave

New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Logo

New Jersey Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) provides eligible New Jersey workers with paid benefits during pregnancy, childbirth recovery, and bonding with a new baby. Pregnant individuals can qualify for Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) benefits while they are unable to work because of pregnancy, recovery from birth, or recovery from complications like postpartum depression. After delivery and recovery, benefits can cover time off to bond with a new baby. These programs enable families to focus on recovery, bonding, and caring for their new baby during their time away from work. Check your family’s eligibility at https://www.nj.gov/labor/myleavebenefits.

Your Health, Your Story is a program of Family Health Initiatives, originally funded by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
and is currently supported by the New Jersey Department of Health 2026.
